Project ’72 — Our Truck, In Public
No shop truck on a lift with a film crew. A real 1972 F-100, a mechanic friend, a junkyard Crown Vic, and an engine rebuild happening on nights and weekends. This journal is the proof behind every guide above.

Where it stands right now
The complete front suspension cradle came out of a junkyard donor and is home on stands, getting cleaned, inspected, and mocked up against the ’72 frame. Full pull-day checklist is in the guides.
The small-block is torn down and the rebuild is underway. Machine-shop notes, clearances, and every part that goes back in get logged here as it happens.
The search for a clean ’98–’01 Explorer / Mountaineer 5.0 donor for GT40P heads — the best cheap airflow a small-block Ford ever got — is closed. The rebuild moves forward with what’s already on the stand.
Cradle mock-up and ride-height math, then wheels, then first fire. The goal is the truck in the photo up top: turquoise, low, hood up, two-lane at golden hour.
